Jujitisu and Kickboxing

We are The Kajuen Ryu and we do Aiki-Jujitsu and Kickboxing. We are at the hall every Sunday morning starting at 10am. We accept students from the age of six with no upper limit. Our Jujitsu is heavily focussed on the reality of self-protection and considers the specific challenges facing different ages and genders. Our Kickboxing is a sport.

We don’t charge for the first class and classes are just £5 per person.

We are as COVID safe as is possible for any activity. We are led by a nurse who has studied infection control at Masters Level.

I can be reached at captaintau@hotmail.com or 07711 699279

Pilates

Pilates is a system of exercise that focuses on conditioning your core abdominal and back muscles, so improving overall posture, muscle tone and flexibility.  It is now being used not only as an excellent form of non-impact exercise and stability training, but also as a very effective form of rehabilitation for low back pain and sports injuries.

Your class will be taken by Mindy Davey, a qualified Chartered Physiotherapist and Pilates teacher.  Classes run in blocks which approximately follow the school diary. A one-to-one session may be required prior to joining a class depending on the nature of your situation.

Pilates classes will resume on Friday mornings in Shrawley Village Hall as soon as it is safe to do so.

To find out more information please either phone Mindy Davey on 01905 857521 or 07515723554 or send an email to enquiries@206therapy.co.uk

Walkers

We meet every other Wednesday.
Normally the walks are in Worcestershire, from about 3 to 5 miles and are taken at a fairly gentle pace. Longer walks are sometimes planned for the more adventurous but details of these are given in advance so members may decide for themselves if they would be too challenging.

Walks almost invariably end at a pub where a pleasant hour or so is spent eating, drinking and generally socialising.

Regular members take it in turn to ‘lead’ the walks. This means that they are given the responsibility of holding the map but slight deviations are the norm! There is a ‘voluntary’ donation of £1 from each walker (and dog) which we give to charity.

As you will probably have gathered this both a walking group and a social group.  However all Shrawley residents are most welcome to join us on a regular or occasional basis. It is a great way to meet people especially if you have recently moved to the area.

If you are new to the group please give us a ring to let us know that you are coming. (Should you then be unable to make it we would appreciate if you would ring Alan’s number so that we don’t wait for you).
